From Kay Bishop, public information director foe the Tupelo Public School District:
Mrs. Shawn Brevard, School Board President, has asked me to share the following information with our Key Communicator Network.
On November 14th and 15th, the TPSD Board of Trustees and the ten-member Search Advisory Committee parallel interviewed a diverse group of five candidates for the superintendent of the Tupelo Public School District. Dr. Art Jones and Dr. Diana McCauley from Hazard, Young, Attea, & Associates had worked for many months to bring a group of high caliber candidates who reflected the stated criteria of the community’s Leadership Profile to the Board for consideration.
After careful review of the insight and counsel provided by the Search Advisory Committee, The School Board decided to invite a single candidate back to the community for a second interview on Thursday, November 20th. The district administrative team, Teacher Advisory Committee, Search Communication Network Committee, Search Advisory Committee and media representatives are invited to a reception at 4 p.m. at the Hancock Leadership Center to meet this individual. The candidate will speak at 4:30 p.m.
This is an ongoing process. No final decision will be made until the completion of a second interview, contract negotiation, thorough background check, and site visit.
