Shannon High School has partnered with Itawamba Community College for an initiative called Ready for Success: High School to College.
“The goals of the program are to increase the number of high school graduates, improve ACT scores and increase the number of students attending colleges and universities,” said Dr. Sara Johnson, vice president of Instructional Services at ICC.
Johnson anticipatees other results of the pilot program will be a decrease in the number of first-time/first-year students taking developmental courses, and an increase in the persistence rate for college students from fall to spring semesters of their freshman year.
