Don’t forget the superintendent search forum

May 13, 2008

Don’t forget the open community forum on Thursday that will help the Tupelo Public School District find a replacement for Superintendent Randy McCoy. (He’s retiring in June 2009.)
“The community forum is open to anybody who can come,” said Shawn Brevard, president of the TPSD Board of Trustees. “We certainly want to hear from every single community member from Tupelo, if they so desire.”

The forum, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium, will be led by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd., the Illinois-based firm that is conducting the superintendent search.

And don’t forget to answer your questionnaire about the search. If you haven’t received the hard copy sent home in your child’s backpack this week, check it out online at www.tupeloschools.com.

No more days like today!

May 13, 2008

Perhaps I was a bit ambitious today. I had three stories to write from two school board meetings and a reception I attended. Somewhere in the mix, I had to vote, pick up my children from after-school care, feed them and put them to bed, and finish two of the stories I didn’t get to earlier in the day. Sigh. Thank goodness today’s nearly over!
